- WHAT DOES THIS PRODUCT DO – Canvas Cleaner – Specially formulated to deep clean and help prevent the growth of green this cleaner will remove everyday contaminates such as bird droppings, road salt, tree sap, and . Cleaning your top is the first stage in the Protex soft top restoration process.
- COVERAGE & PREPARTION – Canvas Cleaner – It is recommended that approximately 500ml of product is sufficient to clean a top for a 2 seater car. The canvas soft top must be colourfast so test on an inconspicuous area first, to ensure fabric dye does not run. Do not apply the cleaner in direct sunlight as drying time will be to fast preventing the cleaner from working properly.
- COVERAGE & PREPARTION – Canvas Waterproofer – It is recommended that approximately 500ml of product is sufficient to waterproof a top for a 2 seater car. It is best to apply the product in cool/overcast conditions so that drying time is not too fast and to avoid causing an uneven finish. Shake the bottle well and decant sufficient product into a separate container to apply to the soft top.
- FOLLOW UP – After Cleaning it is recommended that the canvas is then restored using Canvas Restorer and/or sealed and protected using Protex Canvas Waterproofer.Do not expose to moisture until the proofer has completely dried. After waterproofing it is recommended that the canvas is sealed and protected using Protex Canvas Waterproofer every six months.

Waste of money. Applied as directed and water doesn’t even bead. But blessing in disguise because I had dye the roof anyway.

This worked great on my 986 Boxster. Much easier to use than having to tape everything off as with some other brands. Just grab a paint brush and small container and you’re ready to go. I would suggest hanging some towels over the windows before shutting the door as this will drip/run down the side on occasions. Start at the top and work your way down. It’s that simple. Very happy with the results. Beads of water everywhere! Can’t beat that. Will definitely be purchasing again.

The media could not be loaded.
Really good product. Cleans up the canvas, and slightly darkens it. I followed the product instructions, so used a paint brush and could see straight away how thirsty the canvas was for the Protex solution. Left it several hours to dry and tested by pouring water on (see video). Super water resistant, repels it away immediately. My canvas hood only required half of the 500ml bottle; so will apply again in 6 months. Really impressed. ðŸ‘
Sleepy –
After 2 coats applied in perfect conditions to the roof of my MX-5 (there’s just enough to do 2 coats on this tiny roof) there is absolutely no water repelling ability at all. Will have to go back to using Renovo.
Edit after a month or so there was some signs of water beading but but much.
