Amazon Customer –
Looks exactly as on the listing picture, no tumblers – true.
However, arrived in the package that was opened before (original Mopar plastic bag w/ part #, torn and then stapled back together)
so no way to verify authenticity of the product, and no part # on the item itself.

This product needs to state that it is not the full locking mechanism; it DOES NOT include the wafers needed to key the lock. None or our local locksmiths have the wafers (they’d have to order them) and the dealer has no clue how to get them. The next best opportunity is over 30 miles away with a $50 fee to key the lock. That pushed the cost of this cap to over $100. Avoid this product and get the other cap that comes with the wafers to either key it yourself or give to a locksmith.

OK, it works, but be aware of a couple of things.
First- the first locksmith I took it to practically threw me out – didn’t do that kind of work (I thought that weird)
Second I took it to the dealer – they didn’t do it either (I thought that was even weirder)
Third – best locksmith in the area (who the dealer uses) said he had never done one bdfore but would give it a try) Worked fine – cost about $15 to key.
Point being – not a given that the first place you go can do it. You cannot key yourself – no tumblers! Must have been another product that someone said you could do yourself and has instructions. Not the MOPAR one that I got.
Operating is a bit tricky – practice a little before you stop up a long line at the pump initially learning how to do it. (direction of key, undoing cap – easily done with practice, but not the first time)
TLR –
Will cost you around $40 more to get it keyed to your master, but only having to use 1 key for the vehicle is worth it!

I was surprised to find out that this fits my truck. On mopars website it said that this wouldn’t fit but after I asked my dealer about it they did some research and said it would fit. $40 cheaper (at the time) on amazon than what I would’ve had to pay the dealership and they couldn’t key it there but I didn’t mind taking it to a locksmith to get it keyed for a key I already have. It was only $20 for me and took about 10 minutes to get it done. The cap doesn’t seem like it’ll be like those other gas caps on YouTube were you can just squeeze the sides while you turn it left and it’ll pop off. I’ve tried it and feels pretty solid. Well see how it holds up in the future. When taking off the cap you do have to use both hands. One hand to hold the cap from turning and the other to insert the key and turn to the right. Then you turn the key back left so you can take the key out and put the cap back on easily. I don’t consider any of that a deal breaker for me.

I bought this product because I wanted to have it keyed to the same key as my Jeep’s doors, engine, hood, etc.Price is ridiculously high for what it is without a key or the ability to self-key the lock.

Fits my 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 Limited. Had it keyed alike by the dealer. Fit recommendation by Amazon incorrect. This should have been on a Limited model.

While the product did not meet my expectations, it was delivered earlier than expected and when I found it to not be what I thought it should be, Sahara Jeep made the return simple and pain free.
