This regulator’s gear housing and mounting bracket did not match the motor’s gear on my Jeep but I was able to make it work. The only thing that was the same was the regulator frame. I was able to swap the gear housing and mounting bracket from the old regulator to the new one! It was awkward to get the cables back in the housing but I figured it out and after that I had a regulator that fit the motor’s gear. It’s been 2 weeks since installing it and it hasn’t failed me yet.

This Dorman brand regulator fits and works perfectly. It is at least as well made as OEM if not better.
About some of the other reviews (not necessarily for this corner of the car): My vehicle is a 2003 Grand Cherokee LTD. Many of the reviews do not list the year so I’m not sure how much that matters. Most of the negative reviews are about fitment. Specifically the motor fitment. We’ll get to that in a minute. Anyway, I first purchased one for the Left Rear which had great reviews. Removal & installation went smooth after watching a YouTube video (yes there is one for the rear door too) and I was very pleased everything overall. A week later, the Right Front let go. Needless to say I was pretty annoyed. It could very well have to do with 95 degree plus temperatures weakening the nylon cable retainer since that is what broke in both cases. The more Chrysler gets their grubby mitts into these Jeeps, the more problems you have.
When I went to order the front one, I elected to stay with the Dorman brand since I was so pleased with the rear one. Much to my surprise, the front had only 3 star reviews. So I called Dorman to see if they had any idea why. This is important: Their regulators (without the motor) are for the OEM motor only, which has 32 teeth. Many people replacing these have no idea if the unit was ever replaced before. Some reviews say that it can literally be a yearly thing. Since most auto parts stores only stock the units WITH the motor, you could very well have one with an aftermarket motor which has only 7 teeth. Dorman says that the aftermarket motors that come WITH the regulators are used on many different applications and as such are generic in design with a vehicle specific electrical plug. So, these reviewers who are complaining about fitment have a replacement motor/regulator SET in the vehicle and therefore must replace it with a SET. The OEM motor is black with a gold iridite end cap. The aftermarket is likely zinc plated.
If you choose to take it out for positive ID, cut a 2X4 19 inches long, put it in the door cavity, and prop the window up. I drove mine around for a week with no issues. Also, take note to how tight each bolt is during disassembly. Some reviewers complain about breaking the plastic parts (don’t be a gorilla). Lastly, Dorman said that all cable drive regulators are inherently weak in design. So, after putting windows up the whole way, it would be a good idea to bump the button down to release the tension on the cable pulley and retainer. Hope this helps.

This window Regulator did not fit my 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Make sure you know what teeth your window motor has first. This one has the round fine teeth as you can see that your window motor fits into at assembly. My jeep window motor has the sprocket type gear witch won’t fit into this fine tooth regulator. I’d just suggest ordering the window regulator and the motor assembly as one and then you won’t need to worry. Jeep switched the style sometime, because I’ve changed 3 window regulators before on this and never had this issue.

This part didn’t fit. I recommend buying the whole motor assembly, as that was the problem. The original motor/regulator had a male grove fitment, with like 8 or so groves While the the female portion on this piece is splines with about 25 or so. Definitely worth checking before buying this part.
