I bought this to replace a 10 year old similar switch that I use as a battery disconnect switch on my old 6 volt Ford Truck. The truck had been getting harder to start and testing showed that the old switch had a resistance of 35 milliohms (0.035 ohms). Way too much for a 6 volt starter to work well. I don’t know why its resistance had increased so much over time, but it was definitely higher than it must have been when new.
This new switch is about the same physical size and appearance and fits right in. The important thing is that it measured 0.5 milliohms, 70 times less resistance than my old switch. Truck starts right up now.

Quality product. Use it to power-up a 1200 Watt inverter when making toast or using the computer or other 120 volt appliances in my motor-home. Good as a battery disconnect switch for house batteries for motor homes, but would not recommend it for disconnect switch for the starter battery, might not handle starting loads, especially if you have a diesel powered rig or boat. Could be wrong about that. Has a nice on-off click.

I needed a switch to isolate a second set of batteries that are kept at full charge This switch performed as advertised and gave me the positive feedback I desired when switched to off.

Dimensions of the switch would have been helpful as this was huge – like bulldozer size! I had to return this.

This works perfectly well. There is an assured “click” in both directions. The bezel showing “on” and “off” is just a sticker and I would have prefered something more substantial (made of metal), so I didn’t even put it on. I just remember “pointing right is on” & “pointing left is off”. The device was a little bigger than I expected it to be. It is probably about 3″ in diameter. I am using it on a 12 volt lawn tractor.

Allstar Performance disconnect switch is a made in America quality product. I’ve used these switches on older vehicles that I restored an they work good. Don’t fall apart like foreign made switches.

Worked great for a shutoff on my GEM electric vehicle / golf cart
