I should have listened to everyone else and got these first. Smoothed out the ride from the bouncy SkyJackers I had on there. Easy to install, they came with the bar pin already inserted. The only difficulty was that the lower pin shrouds were too long and woun’t fit into the shock bracket. 30 seconds each with a grinder and they slid right in. Note: you’ll need to take them down almost all the way to the bushing.

So far pleased with upgraded ride feel. As with front shock review, these were installed professionally as had multiple items done at same time (shocks, springs and control arms). Road ride has definitely improved from stock. At this point have about 100 road miles and dirt road. Road bump bounce has disappeared which helps control at higher speeds. Potholed dirt roads are pretty rough though as wheels are hitting holes at different times so understandable. I would recommend if lifting between 1 and 3.5 inches, anything smaller or higher different models would be needed.

Absolutely does not fit an ’08 Rubicon rear shock position.
The existing shock is for a 1 1/2″ lift. It is 19 1/2″ from bottom eye/center to frame… when fully compressed to the bump stop it should compress to 16 1/2″. The tube by itself is 14 1/2″ long.
This shock is possibly for a 3″ lifted front position. The rear shock does not have a stud/bushing top mount…
The Amazon description specifically matches this shock to my Rubicon/rear and should be changed. This was ordered by others however when I double checked the Amazon application match to my vehicle it came back as a match……
I gave the shock a 5 star rating. It is a great shock. It just doesn’t fit.

This is my second set on my 08 wrangler that I have not babied, the first set lasted 3-4 years and about 70k miles with some abusive driving. On the road they are excellent shocks for the money, install is just 3 bolts, takes no time at all if they aren’t rusted up.

Super fast shipping. Literally overnight shipping from Kentucky to South Georgia! Installing these shocks was a breeze. Definitely can tell it’s a performance shock with the high amount of effort to compress it to fit in place.
Took an honest hour with basic hand tools. 17mm ratchet and wrench for lower bolt and nut. 5/8 socket on 2 upper bolts.
The ride is so much better. The old OEM shocks were causing wheel hop on rough terrain. The Bilsteins are floating across the same rough areas. Definitely worth the money.

A different improvement from the stock ones.

I purchased these shocks to replace my ProComp 9000 series rear shocks that didn’t even last 3 years on my 09 JK which for the most part is driven on the street. The Bilstein has a much better ride than the stock and ProComp shock its not even funny. For a schock under $100 this one cant be beat. I’m a Bilstein customer for life! I would highly recommend this shock to any of my fellow Jeep owners, you’ll love em!

The old procomp shocks that someone installed, not sure when, bushings fell out and were rattling, the ride was horrible. A friend recommended these and they have made my Jeep ride like a car again. Amazing!!!

Fait parfaitement! Je recommande fortement 👍🏻👍🏻

Worked perfect. Much better than the last shocks. East to install didn’t even take my tires or jack the jeep to do it.
