This product is a set of 2 door lock cylinders, 1 tailgate lock cylinder for the trunk, 1 ignition switch lock cylinder & 2 matching keys with transponder chip’s that is compatible with the make & model truck, Ford F-150/250/350 for the years 1998-2003. My Ford F-250 is sort of a Frankenstein truck made up of various year Ford Truck model parts & engine so I needed this part for the ignition switch & tailgate but still used the door lock cylinders as well. My mechanic installed the parts so I’m not to sure on the processed but didn’t take more than a day & it fit well on my Ford F-250 truck. The price listed is ok for these parts with 2 additional keys was good.

Worked good in doors and ignition, keys programmed fine but I had a aftermarket tailgate handle with a camera in it, the lock for it I had to file the slot for the retainer to fit correctly

Fit perfectly into the doors and dropped right in on the column! someone punched the driver side door and I needed to replace the entire set- this was the prefect remedy! and I like that it came with the tailgate too!! keys fit well and don’t have a lot of slop. very nice!

I was easily able to replace the worn ignition key in my 2000 F350 without any tools and the door keys were relatively easily replaced as well simply by removing the door panel and accessing the parts. High quality, factory functionality and a great value to fit your F350 like it was new. My ignition had worn to the point that I could remove the key while it was still running without even turning the key off at all.

They list this as it’s applying transponder keys, but they are not transponder keys.

Once I get to town to see if there’s a locksmith, if there is, it’ll be the first time in 10 years that all my locks work with the ignition key.
I lost my keys right after having a new Ford factory engine put in it, and I’ve been playing jingly keys ever since. The original ignition keys from two ignitions ago still fit the doors, but the second and third ignitions didn’t match.
I can get in the truck without keys, but if I don’t have a transponder key, then I need a locksmith, and that cost me about $400 the first time and $250ish the second time.
Over half of the cost was the ignition itself being purchased from the locksmith. Even they told me I could get it cheaper if I wasn’t in a hurry. I was.
I could have saved about $250 the first time and $175 the second time if I’d had this on me, Plus all my locks would match.
Some things are worth having, just in case. Also, the keys in the kits might be cut so that if you got two, the ignition you didn’t use would have back-up emergency keys to cut. If the locksmith stores people’s key patterns like they do our transponder codes, anyhow.
Regardless, I’ll be putting this in my truck soon.
Lately I’m not in a hurry and all I do is stay here and fix this house up, but if I were driving for jobs or needed to go places like I used to, I would buy an extra, just in case. Absolutely no doubt the best money that could be spent by someone who drops their keys through shopping carts, lets beaches swallow them, or just plain gets em snatched at a casino.
I don’t know how much the locksmith will be to do the transponder, but I know for sure it’ll stop going dingdingdingdingdingding every time I open the door and all my locks will match, soon.
Ways having the ignition already, and other stuff, can bring the cost down down and down again.
The Ignition, Alone, was more than Twice the Cost of this entire set, Ten Years Ago. I’m 100% certain I already saved some buckeroonies there.
Second, me going to the locksmith instead of them going to save me at some lake way up on a mountain before dark, well, that outta help, too.
If I can remember the name of the last locksmith, I can get my transponder code, and if the guy here doesn’t even have to do the VIN search..
The only thing left is the ignition install, and that’s so easy anyone can do it, unless they don’t have the right size pokey thing.
So, I don’t think the guy will need to leave his booth until testing the transponder.
I think it’ll be a good 80 or 90 percent less than a rescue with purchase from the smith.
I wish I’d known back then how much of a price difference there is. I’d have kept a set behind the back seat after the first time.
One programmed transponder key from the locksmith cost more than this set, ten years ago. That was $205 $216 or a weird looking number around there.
I just now realized that it would be cheaper to change the ignition and all the locks with this set, maybe even with the locksmith fee for the transponder and them installing the new ignition, than one programmed key from them would cost, all other things equal.
