Engine light came on out of the blue with all servicing listed as up to date. Called Honda dealer who scheduled me two weeks out for an appointment. Did some homework and found the gas cap is very often the culprit for the engine light. Looked at my gas cap rubber seal and sure enough, it was shot.
Bought the: “Gas Cap, Fuel Tank Cap Assembly”, replaced the old gas cap and the light went out when I started the vehicle. I just saved close to $70 at the Honda dealer. Thanks

This fit our 2007 Odessey. The lettering looked much better than shown in the Amazon pictures and better than the original OEM cap. Quality was good. There is one problem…or more of an improvement. It isn’t obvious how to detach the old gas cap from the van. Instructions AND a replacement push pin set would greatly improve the install process. The cap is attached to the van via the long wire with a loop on the end. There are a set of pins. The first “outer” pin loosely attaches that loop to the van. Then a second “inner” pin is pushed into a hole in the outer pin which forces the outer pin outward and against connection to the van. The most important thing to remember is that even though the pin has two pieces, that isn’t obvious when you try to remove the old pins. First pull out the inner pin which releases the pressure on the outer pin which allows that to be easily removed. Like I say it is an “inner” pin but the head on it makes it appear like it is the pin instead of just one of two. I didn’t know any of this and just pulled really hard. It eventually came lose. I could then use that pin set to attach the new gas cap. But it was damaged. Ideally, they should include a new pin set in case you damage the original as well as some sort of instructions. Nothing so bad that it doesn’t deserve five stars.

I purchased this fuel cap for my 2010 Honda Odyssey two months ago since my check engine light was on. After replacing the cap using this one, the check engine light was gone for one month. But several weeks ago, the check engine light came back and I can also smell the scent of gas all the time. I had a technician check my car, they told me the seal of the new cap was not good and I need a real genuine parts/cap from Honda dealer. The return window for this cap is only good for one month, that means I have to pay additional $35 to purchase a new/genuine one from a dealer.
