Excellent price for a perfect part.
The package came UPS in very bad shape. Busted open retaped.
The product fortunately was in like new condition and was a perfect match for the driver-side
rear window on the 2003 Ford Explorer.
I deduct a star for UPS mishandling of package.
Other than that it was a great deal.

Pretty straightforward to install. I followed along a YouTube video from another person not related to this product and I thought it was pretty easy. I’m 7 months pregnant and did it my self with very little help from my dad, i like to do things myself right when I think about doing them, don’t like waiting around and I had waited enough to get my window fixed and was tired of having tape around it. Hopefully it doesn’t break any time soon but would definitely buy again

I’ve done these before, never a real problem till this one came along. 2004 Ford Explorer, should have been a simple install but thanks to Ford it turned into a full days work.
First, you need to remove the small armrest to access the screw near the door handle, you just lift on the front and it comes right off, nope. Couldn’t budge it, seems as if it didn’t fit in and the factory jammed it in, ended up using a rubber mallet to beat on it till it finally came loose. After removing the screws you just lift up the panel till it unhooked, nope. Seems as if Ford had jammed it on and the insulation behind it had become bunched up making it impossible to get the hooks to clear it enough to lift.
Ended up beating it with rubber mallet and forcing it up to finally get it off the door, insulation was balled up in the holes the hooks latch onto, almost an hour beating on it to get it to unhook.
Now the lift, window had fallen down into the bottom of the door, not usally a big deal but not this time. When it fell it came off the track and fell towards the outside of the door, jamming it against the top of the window frame and knocking one part of the frame off. Hour later of working on it I finally got the widow unlodged from the frame and ready to remove old unit, nope.
Seems as if when the window fell it was because the lift cable had come off and gotten wrapped around the window bottom, couldn’t lift the window up by hand because the cable had it tied down to the bottom of the door. Had to cut the cable in several places and unwrap it from the connection at the bottom of the window. Still couldn’t get the window free so I had to remove old unit while the window was still in the down position.
Finally moved onto install, it was a breeze, perfect fit, easy to install and works great, only downside is when you take the rivet out that holds the window to the unit you’ll have to provide your own bolt and nut to hold it, mine was a 6mm, I’m sure most of them are the same.
All in all it was an adventure, I’m very pleased with both the product and the supplier for excellent service, I’m one of those that enjoys a challenge and this one was certainly one of those.
Don’t let my adventure discourage you, anybody can handle this and if you have doubts go to YouTube and check out a few videos first, it may give you the courage to do it yourself.

Great unit – comes with the small harness extension to make it easier. Just wish it came with the replacement bolt for attaching the window again. You can get the cable only units and reuse your motor for half the price but they all had long shipping times.

I installed this part in my 2002 Ford Explorer and it fit perfectly and is working well, however the window does go up and down a little slower, I hope the motor lasts.

The reason I went with this regulator was its price. Auto zone and CAP were $140+ dollars for this part. Can’t beat that!
This thing works well! It is FASTER than the other window now.
It doesn’t come with a bolt or rivet to attach to the glass though. but no need to complain about that, it was easy enough to find a bolt that fit.
The install took less than an hour to do.

This unit fits perfectly in a 2002 Ford Explorer drivers rear door. I bought this one on Amazon as an open box item and saved 25%. There are no instructions in the box, but if you are buying this you probably know where to find videos or other forum guides that explain how to install it. The motor is fractionally smaller and slower than stock -but so what- the electric window now functions. Drilling out the rivet on the regulator arm wasn’t difficult. Total time to remove and reinstall was less than two hours.

After hearing the stories of people having problems with this repair I was worried about trying it but it turned out to be an easy and quick repair. There is a nice video on YouTube that walks through the repair. The worst problem was removing the rivet that joins the old part to the glass. A dremel tool takes care of this quickly. The rest of the removal and installation is pretty easy. One thing to watch for is avoid over-torquing the nuts when you reinstall, I had one of the studs twist off and I had to drill it out and install a bolt. Review the video and give yourself an hour and the repair is done.
