Ignore Amazon’s check of your vehicle year. It’s wrong. I replaced the driver side second door electronic lock in my 1997 Cherokee XJ. The replacement swapped out just fine and now my door locks/unlocks again. This should at least work from 97-01 XJ. Time will tell how long it lasts. Be sure to save a few of the rod clips if they aren’t broken from the old one.

Quick and easy install, probably done in 20-30min from start to finish. Actually replaced all 4 on a 98 Jeep ZJ in 2-3 hours total with these and it was a perfect fit. One door had to have some massage work on my part to get the door to shut nicely. Had to adjust the door striker on the body quite a bit.

(Part Number for Passenger side is 931-679 using logic, I’ll review that part once it comes in.)
Had a hell of a time tracking down the correct part number but using some comparison in part numbers for the front actuators, the rear is always one digit up from the drive side. I’ll review that as well but 678 Dorman worked great for the driver rear.

The listing says this won’t fit a ’97-’01 Cherokee but I saw a couple of comments saying it would fit. I just installed it on my ’99 It fits and works perfectly. It’s a direct replacement for the original. I had a ton of trouble finding a lock actuator for the driver’s side rear door so was super happy this worked out.
