It seems to have fixed the issue on my daughter’s 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Her low beams just began turning off intermittently, which was quite scary. She was able to get home, but I advised her not to drive at night until I could research it. After Googling the issue, it appears to be a common problem with this vehicle as well as several other GM vehicles. For the Trailblazer, it simply meant ordering this part and replacing the #46 relay in the fuse box under the hook (on the driver’s side of the engine compartment). No tools needed. The fuse box just has a couple of tabs holding the cover on. The diagram is under the cover. Look for #46. It is as simple as unplugging the old part and plugging in the new one. If you’re having this problem, this is the part you need–unless of course it is something more serious that is CAUSING this part to go bad. Still, my research indicates this will fix the issue at least 90% of the time.

I noticed one morning my low beam/daylights weren’t coming on when I started my 2006 Trailblazer LT in my garage. I checked the fuses but they were good. Swapped a bulb for a used known working one and still no lights. I then check the relays and swapped the same model one for the fan to the low beam headlights and the lights came on. So I ordered this one and it fixed my issue. This option saved me $15 vs buying local and even locally I had to wait 3-4 days to get the relay, had this one next day. They say buy local but Amazon gets it to me faster than the local places I’ll go Amazon every time. This is a popular relay too and should be in stock at all times. My wife and son’s Chevy vehicles have the same one.

I noticed that before this part goes bad the low beams will randomly dim while driving at night. My low beams would randomly dim for a couple of seconds and then back to full brightness. Then one night I go out to pick up some food and my lights were not working. Fortunately for me I already knew that this was a common problem and had one in the back of the truck with my tools. Popped out the old one and put in the new one. Ever since no more dimming lights at night. So if your low beams start to randomly dim at night, replace this part before it fails completely when you least expect it to.

After looking on youtube what was causing the headlight problem on my truck, I found this relay. Cheaper than in a store and is a proper fit. Working well since I have put it in.

Fixed headlights that would not shut off. GM is recalling many models to replace this module, check you vin for updates. I did not have time to go to dealer and mess around with all of that- for the price, this rocks, It fixed the lights that sometimes do not turn off/ turn on by themselves in a 2005 Buick Lacrosse. Fast shipping and it fixed this issue. GM is replacing this under some recall or service campaign for many vehicles, but I do not know if the internals have been updated or not. It worked for me, but this is the third time this same part has been replaced. There is some kind of design flaw that caused premature failure of this particular module. GM calls it the ‘headlight drive module’ or HDM. Ck for the recall if your having headlight issues, but if your like me, I do not have the time to go to the dealer for a repair that costs less than $50. It costs me more to take off of work and my time is worth more to me than a free module. It is located in the under hood fuse box, and took all of five seconds to change out. Save yourself the time and aggravation, and just do it yourself!
