Works great and has a strap, so I won’t leave this one on top of the gas pump.

Perfect! Engine light was on for two years in my 2004 Jeep Liberty.. I knew it was the gas cap and had gotten a replacement at an auto parts store. Unfortunately, not only did it not have a tether, it didn’t fix my problem. I decided to order a more expensive one (this one) since emissions was coming up and I was desperate. Switched the caps, cleared my light, and a month later I took it to my test and passed. Thank goodness! 🙂

I really, really do love this fuel tank cap. Why? Well, when this vehicle was purchased (used) back in 2007, it had a replacement gas cap on it, with no tether. I had no idea that the OEM cap had a tether. So I proceeded, over the course of 8 years, to lose four gas caps by leaving them on the back bumper of the vehicle (usually in rain, snow, or freezing cold, when all I could think of was to get INSIDE the car where it was warm) and then driving off. Well, the last incident made me upset enough that I thought, I’ll just see if Amazon has a cap with a tether, because that’s what I need.
It took me all of 3 minutes to find the OEM part that fit my Durango, and it had a tether on it! So when I got the cap a couple of days later, I was able to locate where the tether was supposed to be attached, and had it installed in under a minute. NO MORE LOST GAS CAPS!!!! Amazon, you did it again – came through when I was really in need of something and wasn’t sure it was even available. No one had ever told me the OEM cap even had a tether, and I had been going into Advance Auto Parts and buying tether-less replacement caps. THANK YOU, AMAZON – you guys are really the best!!!!

Nothing like OEM quality. Had the check engine come on, scanned it to find out there was a P0457 code ( Loose Gas Cap ) put this new one on, cleared the code. It’s been a week now and no check engine warning so far 🤞🏻

Perfect fit for my 2008 Jeep Liberty. I had a small evap error code and this was one of the steps that I tried to fix it. This was not the fix but I did like that this gas cap has the strap to keep it as my old one did not. Ultimately the fix for my engine light coming on was replacing a couple hoses that were cracked.

The check engine light turned on my Chrysler Aspen 07 on the dashboard, googled the most common causes, and the majority stated that by replacing the fuel tank cap it would resolve, and the fact that I had never replaced it before, made it easy to give it a try… the part came in quick, replaced it, ran the vehicle for around 50 miles, and the next day the engine light didn’t turn on when I started the engine, and it’s been like that for a month or so, bottom line, cheap investment and great solution.
I decided to buy the Mopar brand because that’s what Chrysler uses for its vehicles, for a couple dollars more it’s well worth it.

First off, this cap fits my 2005 Chrysler Town and Country. The tether was simple to hook on, and it probably seals fine, but I’m not entirely sure about the seal. I bought it because my check engine light kept coming on for a small fuel leak (code 0456 for my vehicle), and often that’s the gas cap not sealing properly. The code kept getting tripped every so often after installing this cap, though. And I had a mechanic up and down the whole fuel system, pressurizing it and whatnot and finding no pressure loss anywhere. That was six months ago shortly after I replaced the cap. The light hasn’t come on in a month or two now, and it has gotten less frequent over the past months. So maybe the cap took a little time to conform and is sealing better. Maybe the problem is not (and never was?) the cap. I’m not sure. But I do have a new cap on the car, it fits, and it seems to be working fine now. It doesn’t feel like it seals as tight as it might when I screw it down and it starts clicking, but I’m not sure if that matters or if it’s supposed to feel tighter. That’s my experience. I put it out there because I hope it’s informative and helpful for someone.

Didn’t remove the gas cap warning on my dash.
