When I received these and looked at them I though I wasted a couple of bucks for nothing. The plastic clip just fell out and didn’t hold tight. But I was testing on connector that it didn’t fit quite right. When I put it together on the intended connector it worked property and seated tight like it supposed to.
So should you order these? If your connector is not damaged except for this small piece. Then yes these will likely work (depends on size too) otherwise get a new full connector of the right size and tool to install it.

2004 Ford F150, 5.4L, 3v engine. I was attempting to remove the fuel line from the back side of the fuel filter when I heard the dreaded “snap” of the plastic locking mechanism inside the fuel line. I was elated when I found this product, as you don’t have to replace the whole fuel line or even the coupling…just this piece. Slide out the broken pieces, and just slide this in, and bingo, you are good as gold. This pink replacement is 5/16″, so is not blue like the original.

A tough part to find. I was really sweating when I broke these. These fuel line clips are not the usual ones I’ve ever encountered but was relieved to find these. My Navigator is now back on the road.

Replacement for the OEM 5/16 blue fitting clip between the filter and line from the fuel tank. Worked perfectly.

Before removing you fuel line clip, measure your the diameter of the line itself and verify if it is 5/16 or 3/8 because this will tell you if this clip works for you. It is ‘Not’ interchangeable to both diameters. In my case this part number was wrong and I had to find the larger size, which is almost impossible to find.
Before unlatching your clip I suggest watching a couple of ‘how to videos’ to become familiar with sliding the center clip back and gently lifting it up to disconnect the fuel line. The original clips are fairly brittle and can break so go slow and be very careful.
If the replacement clip is unavailable the fuel line will need to be replaced with would entail dropping the fuel tank…you don’t want to go there. These clips will do the job if you can measure and get the right clip size, plus they will get your line connected safely again without having to spend a lot of labor replacing the plastic fuel line assembly.
Removing the old clip can be tricky, but on the bottom of the fuel line connector there is a very small hole that allows insertion of a small pin or pick tool to help pop out the broken clip piece inside the housing. Go slow, be careful because you ‘Do Not’ want to break the the end of the connection fitting as it is not repairable and will require replacement of the entire fuel line assembly where it connects to the fuel tank.
