    Great upgrade for your OEM brakes. I was a former Master Auto Technician, now retired for many years. I am replacing both front rotors and brake pads on a 2015 Toyota Rav 4. Cross drilled and vented rotors and carbon ceramic front brake pads make the brakes respond faster and better than original brakes. Make sure you install all of the hardware included in the kit as well as clean and lubricate the caliper pins and lubricate the caliper pins with silicone brake grease. Excellent upgrade for the money. Can easily be done over a couple of hours over the weekend.

    Received my PowerStop order very quickly. Everything went together smoothly on my 2018 Toyota Rav4. I did go directly to the PowerStop website to confirm the correct kit for my vehicle before ordering on Amazon, as some reviewers recommended. I recommend reading the grease application points on the grease packet provided and also the brake pad break-in procedure. These are important parts of the installation according to PowerStop. I found the replacement boots and metal guide clips to be a perfect fit and quality. The caliper pin boots were easy to replace and an exact replacement for the Toyota OEM boots. The same is true of the clips.

    Fit perfectly on my 2013 Rav 4 Limited and included everything that was required to do the job. Rotors fit as expected as did the pads. All of the guide clips were included and looked exactly like factory. Could have used more lube for the clips and pins, but I had some to bridge the gap. Good price point for drilled and slotted when compared to non drilled and slotted. Completed the break in procedures and the car now stops on a dime!! Tried to order the one click full package, but it was on back order. I was able to buy both front and back individually for the same price to get them when I wanted.

    Normally wouldn’t buy a slotted and drilled rotor for my daily driver. But, it was on sale and came with pads. After installing the rotors, I’m actually happy I went with these. Install was simple, I’m just a weekend mechanic by the way.

    I went out on a quick drive to wear the glaze off the rotors. Can’t wait to get on the highway, I’m sure the sensation of riding a galloping horse when braking is gone. Will update only if it happens. Not to say it’s the rotors.

    Anyway, hope this is helpful. I’m happy with the purchase. Now I’m getting a set for my wife’s car.

    The kit is nice and all items needed came with the kit. They properly fit the 2013 RAV4 XLE that we own and have had since it was new. This is the correct size kit for a 2013 RAV4 XLE and Limited, the base model needs the smaller and less expensive kit. The clips for the brake pads that seat in the caliper don’t fit very well but I was able to use a flat head screw driver to get them into well enough so that the pads slide properly. The boots for the slide pins don’t seem to be as nice as the OEM Toyota but are doing their job so far. I couldn’t get the lip to get all the way into the caliper for a perfect fit, they just barely stick out at one tiny spot. The amount of grease provided is a little short but you can get by with it for both sides. The main items are packaged nicely too. I read about some noise after a new kit like this is installed so drive 205 miles if it just sounds like rubbing from the pads and their extra thickness compared to the Toyota pads will wear off without worry to the rotor being damaged. Make sure to look and if you see lines forming then something else is the issue. Right now after a few thousand miles the rotors are clean looking and even a little like a mirror reflecting things around them off of them so the pads are making clean and flat contact. We’ll see how well they last though but so far the braking is better but it’s also hard to tell since we had 35k on the RAV4 so the pads were pretty worn and then we move onto this new kit but in theory these should brake much better even if it was new vs new.

    Some notes:
    1. Make sure to follow the break-in procedure, it’s not a joke and needs to be done
    2. Have something to wire tie the calipers up to the metal dish above the spring so that it can be tied up and out of the way
    3. Pay attention to the direction of the clips in the calipers before you remove them so that you insert them properly and they don’t stick out too far and touch the rotor when the caliper is installed, you can see how the Toyota ones are sitting for reference
    4. Use a wire brush on a drill and/or 800 grit or higher sand paper to clean off the piston face in the caliper, the face of the wheel where it meets the rotor and the hub where the face of the rotor meets it
    5. Use anti-seize on the three places in #4 where you cleaned them off but make sure it’s just barely there as anti-seize has aluminum in it and is thick so it needs to be so thin that if you wipe it with just a little pressure you will see the metal below, I made the mistake of too much and then after making sure it was just barely on there but still silver all over that all mated properly when I put the wheels back on
    6. Check the rotation of the rotor and caliper so that the clips or dust shield behind the rotor aren’t touching, turn the wheels too since I had it where the dust shield didn’t run on the passenger side until the wheel was turned so I banged it back a little with a mallet, this will require both wheels in the air at once and the vehicle in neutral with the e-brake on
    7. when you compress the piston in the caliper make sure to take the lid off of the brake reservoir in the engine bay as directed
    8. Use a wire brush to clean off any of the bolts for the caliper and any threaded holes as well
    9. Use a lug nut to hold the rotor on when installing the caliper and make sure not to press the pads all the way into the rotor when installing the caliper, just put them in a little and then slide the caliper onto the caliper bracket
    10. Do not get any fluids or lube or anti-seize on the face of the rotor or brake pads
    11. I used normal hand soap to clean the rotors wearing disposable gloves and then dried them off and then let them air out before installation
    12. apply lube to the slide clips on the calipers and end of the pads that fit into them so that they slide nicely and stay somewhat protected, the Toyota ones were pretty nasty when I pulled them out with the screwdriver and hooked owl tool
    13. Make sure bolts go back into the same holes
    14. Break the lug nuts free on the front wheels while the vehicle is on the ground and before you jack it up and install a jack stand on each side
    15. When installing the wheel make sure the rotor sits on the hub all the back and tight to it without moving before trying to put the wheel on and then don’t touch the rotor at all as you want it to be solid against the hub and then carefully slide it on the threaded studs, slide the wheel back pressing in the middle and make sure it’s in tight and square and then hold it the entire time you put in 3 lug nuts to hold it. Finger tighten them all the way with the lug nut wrench or a socket and then once in you can let go and install the others and tighten them with the wrench holding the wheel enough that they are on there but not torqued way on, that is done when the car is on the ground
    16. Once everything has been installed slowly lower the RAV4 down and then loosen the lugs a little until they spin easily like when you broke them free before starting, this will allow you to torque the lugs on to 80 ft/lbs each properly and it is important to torque them on properly so that the pressure is even on rotor since it is a floating rotor design and is what I found for the correct spec for our RAV4, it also needs to be done in a star pattern so you don’t torque one that is right next to another
    17. I had to put a thick suede work glove on my jack and place it pretty far away from the normal jack point next to the wheel so that I could get the jack stands in at that place so start with the width of the stand next to your jack but not under the RAV4 so you know how far down to go, this will make the jack hit the plastic instead of metal so that is why I used a cover on the jack that won’t slip but also know it can tear up the glove or whatever you use

    I’ve installed this brand of brakes on maybe 20 different vehicles ranging from a heavy duty Dodge Ram 3500 work truck, a Dodge Caravan, Scion xB, Ford Mustang GT, and a Toyota Rav…. and many others.
    These are my choice for adding upgraded braking performance. These deliver consistent stopping power without brake fade and even after 75,000 miles I have ZERO problems with brake squeal or warped rotors.
    No matter what you drive, Power Stop has a brake package that will fit your vehicle. You’ll get better stopping power meaning your vehicle will stop in far less distance. These also cost about the same amount as you’ll pay at your local parts house for the basic brake parts that will squeal and warp. Buy these… you won’t be sorry. Best value in brake kits by far!
