This was the first time we purchased a complete strut and spring package that was assembled and ready for installation. Normally just purchase the struts and move the springs from old to new. Now that they are installed we can sum it up in a simple word, WOW!! Now to explain further. The process of replacing the struts was extremely easy! Remove the two lower bolts and the top three nuts, then hold new one in place and add top three nuts followed by the lower two bolts and you are done. Once the installation was completed we noticed the front ride height of the vehicle was restored and the new struts improved the ride. No question we will look at replacing the entire assemblies on future strut replacements on any of our vehicles. This Monroe package is well balanced and perfect for our PT Cruiser.

The price on these struts was good. They arrived in two shipments several days apart. The boxes are were mostly void of any writing and did not show the word Monroe anywhere. The struts themselves looked like good quality and seem to work well, but they too did not have any Monroe labeling on them so I am hoping that they are truly Monroe struts, but if not, that they are as good a quality as what I would expect from Monroe’s.

These did what they said they would do. On the surface they look easy to install but make sure you have a buddy to help push stuff around and hold stuff. Would not want to try with one person but took about 90 minutes to get both struts in with 2 people of normal garage mechanic ability. You can do this with a floor jack/stands and socket wrenches. Ride is fine, I have other suspension issues so its hard to tell how much better the car is but I think well.

Received quickly & got started had read alittle about how to do, made the job easy.No spring to depress, just remove old & replace with new they seem to be working OK & everything lined OK.Had the alignment checked after which you should do, so no tire wear.These were easy to install & would buy again!!!!!!!

Fit my 05 PT cruiser convertible perfectly, ride is way better now that I have replaced these. Feels like a new car. as I did rear springs and shocks as well.

Parts are fine….. Work very well but if you have any questions you can not call a live person…. All email…. Which in this day is absolutely unacceptable….. Had I known I would have paid more for decent tech support..

As has been mentioned in other reviews, these may raise the ride height of your car. This should settle over time, but in my case it raised the front end of my car by THREE inches! As far as I can tell, my car was an inch lower with the old struts than it should have been, meaning that the new struts raised the front of the car two inches over the normal ride height. One day after installation that is now down to 1-1/4″ over normal ride height, so I’m hoping that trend will continue.
The change in how the car looks doesn’t bother me. The problem is that the increased ride height has changed the angle of the CV joints in the axle shafts, and the car now has torque steer and a bad vibration under acceleration. (Problem resolved see update below).
Otherwise, the car rides well with the new struts. It also feels a bit more solid as the struts tightened up the handling. Installation was as easy as could be too.
UPDATE: I was about to return these struts and put the old ones back on, but decided to check my alignment first, as is recommended by Monroe after a strut replacement. The front toe-in after the swap was nearly 1/2″… should be around 1/6″ or less! Though not convinced an alignment would cure vibration, I went ahead and did a DIY alignment in my driveway, and now the torque steer and vibrations are gone! It seems the combination of increased axle angle (due to increased ride height) and the excessive toe was too much for the CV joints, so If you experience torque street or vibration after the strut change, make sure to have a front end alignment done.

Delivery was fast and easy to installed
