Randomly found these recently as I’m replacing the factory speakers in my Golf R. I would’ve been fine cutting wires, but I really wanted to not mess with the plug in my car in case I ever wanted or needed to go back to the factory speakers (probably won’t but you never know). I saw that this covered up to the 2015 Golf (first MK7 year model) so I took a chance that they might work on my 2016. I was not disappointed. Super easy to hook up and the new speaker clips in like it was from the factory. If you have a MK7 or MK7.5 and want to hook up some new speakers without cutting out the factory harness in the door, these are what you’re looking for.
UPDATE:
These worked perfectly for the rear doors, but upon installing them to the front doors, they did not work. The harness for the OE front door speakers is a little different with the alignment slots being closer together. The wires are pinned the same though, so I was able to take these harnesses and just cut the top middle out so they accepted the front door male wire harness. Even though I had to modify these to make them work on the front door, I would still recommend these.

Wasn’t sure these would work on my daughters 2018 Tiguan with the standard sound system package but they plugged in and the speakers sound great. Mainly leaving this review in case anyone was wondering if it would work on this year and model VW. Keeps the factory wiring intact so definitely worth the few dollars.

Used this to upgrade my MK7 VW Jetta (2020). Worked/still works absolutely perfectly and saved me allowed me to do the repair in the first place. (Didn’t want to mess with soldering wires)

I bought these for my 2017 VW golf and they help solve the problem of having to cut the OEM cables. Basically you have a spade connector on one end for the speaker and the other side just connects to the wire harness that comes with the vehicle. This makes it easy to replace speakers in the future!

This does not fit a 2019 Jetta SEL with the Beats sound system. It’s close, but the guides are too far a part. Going to be hopefully returning these.
Edit: The seller reached out to me in order to refund me the cost of this item. I have amended the star review to reflect this. They were very kind and attentive to the fact that this doesn’t fit my audio system. That said, my initial review still stands and this adapter definitely doesn’t fit a 2019 Jetta SEL with the Beats premium audio system.
