I’m using this to power a small computer on my telescope rig from a 12V battery pack. Works perfectly.

I’ve used these cables for 2 years to power my a/c cooler, and they always worked perfectly…until I bought a new one last month. It wouldn’t stay connected, and the plugs slipped out of the lighter socket and/or the cooler outlet with just the slightest bit of movement. It seems like they must have shortened the plugs because they always fit snugly in place before. I exchanged the cord that was not staying plugged in, and was sent another with the exact same problem. It’s very disappointing. I’ll have to find a better cord from someone else.

The spring rate of the spring behind the fuse is too high and ejects the 12V connector out of the socket this cable is plugged into. I have seen many of other these Chinese plugs that are made with too much force of the spring behind the fuse or plunger suffer this flaw. This design needs work to be reliable. If you have parts and general know how of the mechanics you can modify these cables to work, but why can’t the manufacturer fix their problem in the first place. Shop around and buy another or build your own. These cables are too unreliable.
