I wasn’t sure what to think of this, but it actually works really well and I am excited because it simplifies what I need to keep in my car. I already have a tire inflator that uses this battery, so now I can use one battery to cover multiple emergency situations. I am pretty impressed. If you have an inflator or other tools with this battery (Makita or it’s clones) then this is pretty handy to have, much more lightweight than any lead acid battery jump starter.

It does give power to the car, but can’t start a dead battery, it more like an extra boost for the low battery. Not for the drained out one

This adapter charges a dead battery enough to get your car started. It will not start your car when there is no battery at all.
When you connect the Makita 18v battery to the adapter, the light goes green. Then, when you connect the jumper clips to the car battery, the light starts flashing. After a short time, the battery is charged enough to start the car, as you can see in the video.
This is a very handy little device that makes it really easy to grab an 18v tool battery and start your car. I am very pleased with it.

As I selected Makita years ago for the standard for my battery powered tools and implements, this item fit perfectly into me collection. I have found it very useful for jumping my lawn tractor battery which tends to run down if I don’t use it for a few weeks. This works perfectly for this. Have not tried it on a full sized vehicle yet, but worth having if for nothing else than the lawn tractor. Would definitely recommend.

This work surprisingly well, the voltage is 13.5V, thus is does a moderate charge. In 20 minutes it raised my battery from 17% to 37%, and my 3.5Ah pack was not depleted yet, and the voltage was steady at 13.5. This is better than my cheap (80$) pack, who started at higher voltage, took pause very often and was depleted before adding 10% to my battery. This is not as good as my big (180$) battery pack, which provides 15V and added 20% in under 10 minutes. If you have makita batteries and don’t want to spend 200$, then this is a great option.
The kit is easy to operate, plug the tool battery, connect to the car, wait some time, and you’re good to go if the battery is in a good state of health but only a bad state of charge. It won’t provide much cranking assistance; thus, if the car battery is too old, then it won’t help much. The LED has a sequence, flashing green to indicate charge in progress, green to indicate that you are ready to go. This is purely a timer, unplug it, and it starts flashing again for a couple of minutes and turns green, charging furthermore.
