Spent the time to install this. Thankfully I had the took UNLACKED when I test it out. The handle came right off. Its useless. Has to uninstall it and now I need all new clips as they were old and could only take being removed and put back in once. Just trash how could this be sold and actually still be a product

I have always liked the quality of Dorman parts, the quality is equal or better than Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and a lot of headaches have been avoided by their wide selection of parts. The OEM design makes people think that the latch-release is a lever instead of a PULL knob. I have replaced dozens of these on Honda Elements that have been snapped off by unsuspecting folks. The quality is great, the assembly is great, and little details like the grommet make the replacement easy and as good as new. The only negative is that Dorman can’t (I assume) change the design to make it more obvious that this should be pulled straight and not from the side.
As long as Elements are on the road, I will be buying more of these parts.

This product is made out of cheap plastic and breaks right away. Had to order another one but from the dealership. Not recommended.

I have an Element that I’m selling. Someone just put a deposit on it, but when they tried to open the hood, the handle broke off. I found this one, because EVEN THE HONDA DEALERS said it would be a 3 week to 3 month wait for a new one. Bingo – SCORE! I ordered it on a Wednesday, said it would be here Friday, title transfer is to happen Saturday. Got delivered on THURSDAY! Extra day to install. It truly works beautifully. Perfect fit – not this manufacturer’s fault, but Honda made it a pain the butt to replace this!

It took me about 30 min to replace the original. Works good! Now I can open my hood without a pair of pliers!
