Never have I bought an air filter with a hole in it. The filter element is cut too short so it does not reach all the way leaving gaps. This might not cause immediate damage but could be detrimental to the engine’s life since large particles (i.e. sand) can make their way past the mesh and into your engine scoring the insides of your engine. Having a defective filter like this is probably worse than using an old and dirty filter.

Bought this to replace the air filter on my 2012 Forester and fit just like OEM. Have not washed yet but looks to be of good quality that should last.

I noticed an immediate difference my car felt more responsive more powerful and was faster than it was before. I wish I would’ve bought this a long time ago it really made my car come alive. I had recently just began modifying my naturally aspirated motor I did headers intake hybrid setup and full exhaust, Ngk wires and plugs and my car feels so alive. I think the last thing I need is a lightweight pulley and this thing would be awesome. Mine fit perfect. 2004 Forester XS

I had a K&N on my 2003 Pontiac Vibe which wore out (thanks to some critters getting into the intake box). Hesistant to spend almost $60 on a new one, Amazon suggested this one for $19. I don’t know if I could tell the difference between two new ones. They look and feel the same to me. Fit perfectly into my car, and works fine. Seems to be an excellent copy of the expensive one. And at this price, I can toss them every 2-3 years instead of cleaning them (I’m not sure if this officially can be cleaned and re-oiled).

I usually use a big named reusable air filter in my Forester and I thought I’d give this one a try based on price and the reviews and claims.
First off – it’s a bit of a different fit from the big name filter. It’s a bit thicker and doesn’t snug down inside the air box like an OEM of other paper filter or like the big name . A bit of finagaling and got it in place.
I’ll report back any improvements or issues.
