  • The X-Series Wideband UEGO AFR Sensor Controller Gauge (PN 30-0300) features a modern, visually striking faceplate and new seven-segment center display that is 87% larger than the 30-4110 AEM
  • The gauge includes a 0-5v and RS232 Serial Port output for feedback control and data logging, and an AEMnet (CANbus) output for data logging
  • X-Digital wideband technology gives these controllers the ability to read and report values that other controllers do not, which can deliver more optimized engine tuning and a safer overall operating condition
  • Faster response time improves wideband feedback control, and can provide a safer, more powerful and accurate tune
  • When tuning an engine using wideband AFR feedback control on an inertia dyno, dead time affects the data you are looking at because it is reported in a different operating location than when it actually occurred

68 VW Bug with dual IDF carbs. Tuning by ear and RPM only gets you set at idle. But what does your mixture look like at high load when you get into the main jets?

I don’t have it permanently mounted. I just ran the cable into the car so I could see it while driving. It was nice to confirm that at WOT I was running a touch rich. Perfect. Then I could take the O2 sensor out of the exhaust, put the bung plug back in, and save the sensor for the next time I need to tune.

I did previously weld in an 02 bung in my exhaust. I knew I would be running this at some point. Most muffler shops will do that for you for a few bucks.

This is the best product on the market bang for buck. This sensor provides a wide range of measurements of rich and lean and provides provisions for a data logger to utilize the information off the sensor. Every component is of quality and is sure to last given proper installation and setup.

I’ve been very pleased with this set up. I’ve had a few from different companies and, per my data logs, this one clearly responds faster than the others. That is very helpful when tuning, particularly for acceleration enrichment. The gauge is easy to read and looks good. My classic car is fuel injected now and runs a Microsquirt V3 controller and this pairs great with it. So far no problems. Very happy, recommended!

Reads the same as the accessport in my sti. Replaced my innovate lc2 with this. Far more accurate, way simpler, way easier to install. Looks great, an essential for boosted cars.

Amazon is a well known distributor so definitely a good company to buy this from since also now aem is having problems with China making knock off their products. Definitely looks simple to install.

As promised, I’m updating this review based on the customer service experience. I installed this to replace a dying old 14point7 gauge and it was DOA. It just read “SEnS” when I powered it up, despite having good wiring continuity. I emailed AEM with a specific description of the issue and they had me call and arrange for a replacement, there was no hassle and the customer service people were friendly. When all was said and done, I put the new one in with the already-installed wiring and it works fine.

I like the responsiveness of its output for tuning and the sweeping LED part of the display is useful for visualizing transients like acceleration enrichment when you don’t have your laptop hooked up. The only negative about this unit is that the bezel is thick compared to most other wideband gauges, and based on the form factor of the actual gauge part the size of this part is pretty excessive. It’s also gloss black, which doesn’t match the satin/matte black of most interiors and gauge bezels, but I just had to remove the bezel and paint it to rectify this.

Tip: don’t go through all of the hassle of running the wires and stuff until you bench test it out of the box. That way you know it’s functioning before spending a few hours fighting with grommets and taking interior parts out to run wires cleanly.

This gauge is wonderful. They did a really nice job making the wiring harnesses simple and easy to connect. The gauge is easy to use, adjust, and works well with the included Bosch sensor. I installed the sensor close to vertical as recommended and have had no trouble with it.

UPDATE: After about six months it started taking longer and longer for the gauge to go off HEAT – ie for the sensor to warm up. I asked support and they said the sensor was probably failing. Two years later it still does the same. So it’s working but takes a long time to warm up. Not a big problem but just FYI.

The media could not be loaded.

There’s a good video on YouTube about Chinese fakes. The price on this is almost too good to be true, but since I like to gamble, I ordered one. I reviewed every single photo prior to buying this and could spot some that seemed fake according to the research video I found on YouTube.

If you’d rather buy from an authorized dealer, like Summit Racing, you’ll spend maybe $30 more…
