Purchased this sensor to replace internal temperature sensor in Highlander 2014. Once it arrived, I opened front panel under driving wheel and found that internal temperature sensor is quite different – it has hole which allows cabin air to be pulled through. This ACDelco temperature sensor is completely sealed which made me to suspect that it is external air temperature sensor. I looked under the hood and right behind front bumper I was able to see Toyota’s external air temperature sensor which looked exactly like this ACDelco sensor.
Conclusion: This is EXTERNAL air temperature sensor, at least, for Toyota Highlander 2014. Returning due to invalid item description.
But sensor looks/feels good and measures about 1.2 kOm resistance at 80F.
