The woleyi Magsafe charger is a great item. It mounts via your CD player slot and is very secure. It fastens with a screw that allows the cd slot mechanism to remain in place even over bumps or road obstacles. The head portion is swappable to allow for a MagSafe mount of any other phone mount that fits the ball joint. The woleyi cd mount also has an adjustable arm that can raise and lower for better access to your mobile device. Overall a fantastic alternative solution for MagSafe and phone mounting.

I jumped on this phone holder as soon as I saw “CD Mount”. We have a 2014 vehicle that we use a CD mount to hold the phone. Past CD mount phone holders would interfere with the car’s screen when we backup the car. We would have to rotate the phone in order to get a clear view of the backup screen. The most recent mount had an height adjustment and the tightening knob for the CD mount was also out of the way. It served us well.
When I saw the magnet mount I decided to go for it but upon opening the package saw the dreaded adjustment knob. As far as I know this hindrance only applies to our VW Passat. If the CD slot is right above the screen then it will affect your car too. I ended up just using the magnet mount and swapping it with the previous mount. The CD mount remained in place.
The magnet allows me full access of the phone but with a little magnetic resistance when removing it from the mount. Adjusting the phone’s angle is easy and if I chose to, I can rotate the phone from portrait mode over to landscape mode when using the phone as a GPS.
Overall, I’m happy with the mount albeit just half of the assembly. The CD slot mount has been put aside.

This car mount for a smart phone definitely sets itself apart from others on the market in that it neither relies on suction on a dashboard or a clip on a vent. It’s unique in that it uses a CD slot to hold the mount. This is great for a couple of reasons: it utilizes a lesser used part of a car, and keeps the air flowing and reduces the potential for overheating on the device. The magnetic component on this is strong and assembly took all of 30 seconds, but unfortunately, the plate is on the thick side and requires some jimmying to get it to fit into the CD slot and ensure it’s inserted fully and securely. There is potential for not fitting or damaging the CD player or the mount, so caution is required. Also, there’s not a lot of flexibility to the mount as it’s just a straight arm that can be extended a bit or swivels at the joint, but otherwise, it’s pretty rigid and not customizable.

The product is good, sturdy, and seems like it was made from good quality. The magnet is strong and will ensure that the phone will not get thrown. The only issues is that the part that needs to go into the CD Player is a bit too thick.

CD slot car mounts are getting rarer and rarer and fortunately for me, this one one! Though it doesn’t quite fit my preference. The mounting arms slot nicely in the CD slot and with careful adjustment of the screw you can get it to hold quite well. The arm extension holds well too when tightened. Both the ball head and the magnets are quite good too, I have had no problems with positions shifting on bumpy roads or smaller potholes.
What I do find a little unfortunate for my personal preference–and this will also vary a lot depending on your car model, is the height of it. I wish the phone mount can go a little lower, closer to where the CD tray part is. This would better clear it from my vents but also be less of a leverage against the CD tray itself.
But for those needing a bit of extra raised height, especially for car models with CD trays mounted really low, this can be a interesting solution.
