Perfect fit for a Gen 1 (’84) ramcharger. It does take a bit of work to install. Also apply lub prior to install to both regulator & tracks for the regulator ‘wheels’.

This product said it was compatible for my vehicle it IS NOT. This is not for a manual crank. The description said it would work. IT DOES NOT WORK. Returns should be extended up to 60-90 days due to mechanic availability for customers who buy their parts.

May 27, 2016 I just purchased and received this window regulator for a Dodge D250 1989 ram pickup, driver side. I had to use a dremel tool to cut the old window regulator out because it was stuck in the upwards position. The picture shows it laying on its side with arm extended Left and from the backside which when installed will be pointed towards the outside of the door. The motor and counter spring mounts on this side. If you rotated the image 90 degrees clockwise that is how it would look when used. The pivot arm is also weirdly over extended normally it is parallel with the top of the other arm to form a perfect X shape. The spring trys to hold the motor arm raised in this perfect X to hold the window UP. The motor turns “to counter act” the spring and lower the window by rotating the pivot arm until it lays flat with the motor turned arm. The Vent Window or “Ventilator (smokers) window absolutely Must be removed to insert into the door. There is a bolt at the bottom and a phillips head screw at the top. Its easier if the regulator arms are “collapsed” so they are “flat” not in an “X” configuration to install. The motor needs to be already attached to the gear and the counter weight spring will be under tension, so it needs to be “bound” in some manner for safety (it will try to force the arms to fly apart in the X shape and the sector gear will act like a guillotine if not “bound”, it is recommended a hole be drilled through the sector gear and the motor plate and a bolt inserted to prevent motion while installing the combined window regulator and motor into the door. After it is in place, the bolt can be removed and the “counter weight” of the attached window and force of the attached motor, should [balance] the force of the spring and keep it from moving. {use caution and safety above all else!} The old regulator will have rivets that have to be drilled out and replaced with short nuts and bolts. User must provide the bolts and nuts. The bolt heads have to be inserted from the side the sector gear rotates so they seat lower than the sector gear surface when it rotates through its range of travel. Its really difficult to compress the spring and align the motor arm in-line with the axis of the motor axis. A bench vise or perhaps a C-clamp with a lot of caution is advised. When it is in position the “binding” bolt hole can be drilled, and bolt inserted, and the motor can be attached. I am not sure the strength of the counter spring is as much of an issue with regards to the difference between the Dorman and OEM part. The Dorman motor is different too. It may be they re-calculated the appropriate balance based on the strength of the motor and weight of the window. The pivot between the arms also appears to have been re-thought. Not sure if the spindle “fit” for the old OEM motor mount matters either, since it appears to be more a matter of meshing properly with the sector gear “teeth”.

Installed this on a 1988 Dodge D150. Didn’t use the rivets, so had to widen the holes a little to fit the original nuts/bolts. Otherwise it was a perfect fit.
