Installing ANY cabin filter on a PT Cruiser is a pain in the backside.
This is not a top-end filter with activated-carbon etc, but it costs lest than HALF the ones you can get at local parts jobbers. Good value!

Perfect fit in my 2008 PT Cruiser.
turned out there was no cabin air filter in my car at all. Dunno if someone pulled it out and never put a new one in or what but we’d turn on the fan and get little bits of dust and crap in our eyes.
Wrestled with the cover and loosened up the washer fluid well so I could get back to the air filter box, opened it up and, surprise! No filter.
Well, this one popped right in and we have no more dust, air flow seems to be the same so it seems to be doing its job.

Purchased this because I got really tired of dust and other contaminants entering the cabin whenever I don’t use recirc (it’s always off by default, so you get a nice blast of dust when you start up). It still amazes me Chrysler cheaped out on a simple filter like this and didn’t include one in USA/Mexico/Canada since the European ones DO have cabin air filters included. It took 5 minutes to fit and was straightforward as expected. You’ll need a cross screwdriver to remove the plastic cownling by the washer reservoir, and a 10mm socket to remove 2 screws on the left side of the reservoir to turn it forward and allow the filter to fit in. It fits nice and snug, the air flow is not restricted which is nice, as I expected it to be the case. The fan noise is now slightly different, it’s more of a pleasant hum rather than the sound of blasting air. Does the job nicely, at quite a low cost. I picked this over the $30 Fram filter based on cost, but I am not dissappointed. For those looking to fit this and haven’t before, I’ve included a couple of pictures after I’ve fitted the filter to show where it is.

Ordered this for my Pt Cruiser. I was tired of having engine and oil odors with the Ac on. I also hated getting hit with dust when I first turned the Ac on. This fits the Pt correctly, installation was a pain but not because of the filter, the pt just has a bad design for the cabin air filter. The instructions say you need to remove three 10mm bolts for the washer fluid tank but I was able to do it removing only the left two. The filter fit snuggly and has eliminated some of the Ac odors.

Found the how to video online and it was super easy to install. It fix right in and I was done in 15 minutes. I did it also with a handicap hand. Was disappointed that it took so little time to install, unlike everything else on a pt cruiser 🙂 hahaha.
