    Bought as a backup because my original fell off. I got it stuck back on but know it probably won’t make it thru the summer and wanted another on hand. This isn’t an exact match to the original but works on my Uniden R8.

    I commute to work for 5 miles every morning, usually before the sun comes up. Since travel time can fluxuate depending on the traffic, I sometimes needed to pull my phone out to check the time (I despise wearing a watch). Also, when not commuting to work, I will set GPS courses to get my excersize in.

    **ON A SIDE NOTE**
    If you have a smart phone with GPS, download “ZOMBIES! RUN!” from your app store. Makes jogging/riding around town a lot more entertaining!

    Anyhow, this product eliminates the need for me to fish my phone out while I’m pedaling, and is very convenient for me. The adjustable sides securely ‘hug’ the mobile device while the straps further keep it in place. The portion that connects to the bike allows for a lot of play for the diameter of handlebar (or area to be connected to), as well as included a rubber grommet for smaller bars. Getting a second bike for my wife to ride along with me, and equipping it with one of these as well. Since you can’t wear headphones while riding either (plus it’s unsafe), I can listen to Pandora while I ride!

    left my original mount in a rental car. Got this one, its better than the one that came with my Uniden unit. Holds strong, Adjustable. One large suction cup, we’ll see how it holds up in the summer sun

    I have perfect performance out of my Charger City mounts for my Uniden detectors. None have ever fallen off and stick like glue to my windshield. I have purchased this product four times and performance has been perfect. No complaints at all.

    I almost gave this 4 stars, although its close enough that I gave it 5. The band that crosses in front of the screen to hold it in seems to get in the way when you are wanting to use the touch screen. It would be much better if it had some other way of securing it. The construction is good, and even though its made from plastic, the plastic seems to be sturdy. There was another guy that said all bad things, saying that it was made cheaply, although I think he just over torqued it to his handlebars. If you tighten the product properly, you shouldnt have any problems.

    One minor problem is that when you go over bumps, it seems to move a bit from where you have it positioned on the ball joint. Its not a huge problem, although it can get a bit annoying when you are going down a bumpy road.

    All in all, I think its a great product for an even better price!!

    Suction cup did not even last 40 days. It got stuck and would not compress to fit onto the window. It’s cheaply made, not a good buy.

    Got this one for my R1 about 6 months ago and wasn’t sure if it’s going to last longer than a few weeks due to how the pivot arm is secured. Thought it would loosen up eventually and won’t stay locked, but surprisingly it has been holding on and the radar doesn’t flop around. I say good bang for the buck if it lasts at least a year. Great suction on the cup itself also.

    Overall, pretty decent. Bought this thing about 18months ago (Nov2023). Has done fairly well except the last few months the suction cup finally lost its grip. Moisturizing the cup doesn’t help any more. The rest of the mount has pretty solid construction, it just won’t stick to the glass any more. It’s like the suction cup material got too stretched to hold suction when you engage the latch.
